It’s an easy-to-moderate hike that’ll give you amazing views and even better photos!

If hiking isn’t your thing, then don’t worry, McKinney Falls State Park has something for everyone. You can go fishing in one of two catch and release ponds, fish off a dock in the Colorado River, picnic at one of our beautiful tables, or take a walk through the park. There are so many options for you to choose from! You can also rent out paddle boats and water bikes if you don’t want to miss out on any fun! 

McKinney Falls State Park is home to some endangered species- ones that we should all be protecting and caring for. The park is a refuge to the golden-cheeked warbler, black-capped vireo, and many other native Texas species that you can see in person if you visit!

McKinney Falls State Park is located near Austin. You can get there by car or on foot, and since it’s only about 50 miles from the city center of Austin, you should be able to make it out there relatively easily if you plan accordingly.
